Horror redux

British publishing house Faber & Faber has announced the publication of several new editions of the "strange stories" of horror writer Robert Aickman. Aickman, who died in 1981, never achieved more than cult-favorite status (despite having several of his book covers illustrated by Edward Gorey, in a glorious pairing of author and artist), but his small group of devoted fans are hoping that these re-issues will stir up more interest in his work. I'd be more interested if the new editions featured the Gorey illustrations, but the new cover art is actually pretty great, so I'll get over it.

...I guess.
