The Times just posted an article about the growing backlash to Linda Fairstein, the prosecutor-turned-successful mystery novelist who oversaw the Central Park Five case. Thanks largely to Ava DuVernay’s Netflix series about the attack and its aftermath, When They See Us, which depicts Fairstein as one of its primary antagonists, Fairstein has been faced with a recent storm of criticism. It's a little disturbing that it took a TV miniseries to finally put an irreparable dent in this woman's reputation (her flawed approach to the case has been acknowledged for years, and the convictions against the five young men were overturned years ago), but better late than never, I guess.
