Anglophile foodies

I'm always attracted to yearly round-up posts, and this list of 2017's best food books is intriguing: I like the use of the word "splenetic", the cover art for The Folio Book of Food & Drink, and I definitely want to know more about a book described as "a forensic dismantling of the pseudo-science behind recent food fads". I wish the selected recipes looked a little more appealing, but I've seen worse.
