It's still not April 1st, right?

Huh. NPR informs me that the 4th Annual Quidditch World Cup is taking place at De Witt Clinton Park in New York City this very weekend, and will feature more than 60 different teams from high schools and universities across the country.

Here in the Puget Sound area, there is a Harry Potter exhibit.

Fwee?

The books were entertaining, but they weren't that freaking amazing... or so I thought. Apparently, I'm wrong.

I thought they got less amazing as they went on, and Rowling began to feel increasing pressure to deliver "epic" in each installment. Not that the later books were bad, exactly, but i found them more unwieldy and less charming.

The first book was basically Oliver & The Hardy Boys in Magicland and then they took a life of their own from there.

Oh, I certainly agree the first book was predictable, but I found that a plus. As I wasn't worried about where things were going to go next, plot-wise, I felt free to sit back and enjoy the creative little touches in Rowling's world. Unfortunately, as the series progressed I felt like she began to focus more heavily on her plot (which wasn't very interesting to begin with), and left the more entertaining, almost domestic details on the sidelines.
